TV Party began in 1993 by covering the Arts and Entertainment scene in Minneapolis.
It was hosted by Doug E Fresh, aka Doug Herkenhoff,
and produced, directed and edited by PJ Letofsky.

The show aired on MTN (Minneapolis Television Network),
channel 33 in Minneapolis. 42 Episodes were created over the next 7 years.
We covered everything from the Loring Block Party, and Bastille Day,
to the International Beer Festival, to Coffee Shop Tour's,
Oktoberfest in New Ulm, The Eel Pout Fest, The Blind Lizard Motorcycle Rally,
to TV Party Goes Golfing and more .

In 1995 TV Party went to the
South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas,
and ended up covering the event 5 years in a row.
We have great segments on rock legends, Iggy Pop, Patti Smith,
Exene Cervenka, John Doe, Soul Asylum, and rising stars
Nashville Pussy, Los Straitjackets, Alejandro Escoveda, the Supersuckers.
We also uncovered future rock stars Cocco, LikeHell, Cathy Rigby, Bottle Rockets,
Martin Zellar, and the Honeydogs.

PJ then took TV Party on the road where he did a 2 part series
TV Party Does Prague , Czech Republic with a look at the ex pat scene.
A few years later he went to Israel to take a look at Christmas in Bethlehem.

 

 

 

 

 

TV Party is looking to reinvent itself by expanding into
other areas of the leisure arts, including comedy (with Rosie Tran)
urban horticulture (with Lisa Philander) culinary delights, and a
renewed focus on indie music, and film.
